I had a LR in dec 2000, which failed and OS said the same thing as yours, although he doesn't like me going through such a hard and long rehab. Would be in a cast for 6 weeks (no weightbearing and crutches), then PT for 6 weeks, return to work after 4 months!! We've tried Hyalgan injections, I hope they work. I asked for another scope, but he won't do one, as he recons he'll end up doing the patellar tendon transfer anyway. Mail me if you want. I have to wait at least 5 weeks to see if the injections are working. Good luck

I had a lateral patella release in February 2000 to correct tracking in my knee. The pain has now come back and my consultant has suggested that he now performs patellar tendon relocation. I understand that this involves longer surgery and will require a knee brace for 6 weeks follwed by an intensive period of physio. Does this preocedure have a high success rate, will i have complete knee movement after surgery and are there any alternatives? Many thanks
