 Hi,

My son was diganossed with a Tibial Plateau Fracture in his right knee today.  Ortho says he needs surgery to fix it.  He says that the injury is pretty easy to fix and that he should heal quickly.  The most unfortunate part of this is that my son was schduled to go on his dream trip to Japan in 12 days, something we have been planning for the last 9 months (a 12 hour flight from us).

Does anyone have any experience with this surgery?  What is the likelyhood that my son will still be able to go on his trip?  The doctor says that it is not 100% out of the question and that we will just have to see how fast he heals and how he feels.  It it unrealisitic for me to keep hope that my poor son will still be able to go on this trip that he has been loooking forward to all year?
